Enrolment

.To enrol on a course, please read this page.  If, however, you just want to register your interest on a class that is suspended or a course that is scheduled to run in the future, subject to demand, please follow this link to register your interest - if you don’t, the course may not run at all!Special Offer - Your first yoga lesson is free of charge!

if you would like to try a lesson at a regular class. The first lesson is free (subject to space available, and also not available for courses or personal tuition) so you can try it out without cost or commitment.  If space is available and you are accepted for a free trial, still check the enrolment details below and bring your signed declaration to your first class (or enrol on-line!).  Pay at the end of your trial lesson at the pro-rata regular rate to secure your place at future classes.

NOTE - New attendees - If you want a guaranteed place straight away, you will need to provide your declaration and payment 1 week before you attend.  If space is available and you are accepted, then you become a regular enrolled yogi!  Otherwise, you will get a full refund. If you are taking up the special offer of a free trial lesson, please pay for one less lesson for the period. Payment is at the regular rate (for a guaranteed space) unless you are starting at the beginning of the term and you wish to claim the Early Payment discount.  These options are clear on the details page, especially if you pay on-line. If, however, this is as clear as mud,  with your intention and I will tell you the payment!

Enrolment DetailsEnrolment

There are a few things to clarify before you enrol and join in a class.  Whilst yoga is inherently very safe if practised sensibly, it is still possible to injure yourself, so please check through section A. Your Health & Safety.  Yoga is also a valuable practice for students with health problems, but some things need to be avoided or done very carefully, so please check out section B. Your Health & Specific Precautions. Finally, like any service provided in exchange for money, there is always a contract even if not written down - please check through section C. Terms so you know what to expect. To ensure that each student does understand their responsibility, I do ask you to print off the Declaration, sign it and add the other information requested - let me have this with your first payment.  Sorry about being so formal - it just seems the easiest way to avoid misunderstandings.

Payments & Dates

Please see the appropriate Yoga Class page for details of payments and dates.  I will confirm your acceptance by email or if you do not have email by phone or at the first class you attend.  I will always try to contact you as soon as possible if the class is already full.

Your Enrolment in Don’s Yoga Class

Enrol on-line!You can enrol on-line (although at present you will still need to deliver your payment to me), or contact me and fill out the Health & Safety declaration form below.

Please print for your records and to sign the declaration to bring to your first class (if not enrolling on-line) - Click the icon to the left, print from your new browser window, then close the new browser window.

A. Your Health and Safety
You are responsible for your own safety during your yoga practice.
  • If something isn't right for you, then don't do it, or modify what you do, or ask for help from your yoga teacher.
  • If you find that you need to stop before others, then do so. For example, you may feel pain, intense heat, overstretched, out of breath, cramp, dizzy or wobbly. None of these things should be part of your practise. Try to distinguish between pain and stretch! - sometimes strong controlled stretching is fine.
  • If you have a specific health problem and have been given advice from your health professional, then please stick to it rather than just following the class.
  • Please do limber up adequately (especially if you come into class late)
  • If your yoga teacher gives you specific advice, please follow it unless it isn't right for you!
  • Do not try to be competitive or do something just because somebody else is doing it.
  • Ensure that you do not slip by using bare feet on a non-slip surface (sticky mats are best) when necessary (e.g. wide-legged postures)
  • If your yoga teacher has indicated health or safety precautions for something once, please try to remember it if it applies to you as it is impractical to always repeat every precaution prior to each posture.
  • Please make allowances if:
    • you have recently had a heavy meal
    • you are menstruating or pregnant
    • you are under the weather or recovering from illness
  • Please check if your health condition suggests you take precautions - and follow them - see next section (B).
  • If you are concerned about a health problem, do see a health professional and ask their advice.
  • Take care if you are wearing jewellry, spectacles, etc.

C. Terms
Here is some 'small print', just to clarify expectations. Hopefully, this will never need to be referred to! By attending a class, you accept these terms.
  1. Your enrolment is accepted at the sole discretion of your yoga teacher
  2. You may choose your preferred payment option, but payment must be received prior to taking a class (except a free trial).
  3. You are asked to satisfy any reasonable request made by your yoga teacher for your health and safety.
  4. If arriving after the class start time, you may not have a place. Every reasonable effort, however, will be made to fit you in.
  5. If there is a free place for you when arriving late, you are requested to 'get ready' outside the hall and make your way and place your mat as quietly and as slowly as possible to avoid disturbing others with noise and draught as you pass and settle.
  6. If you have selected a drop-in rate, your place in that class can only be finally guaranteed at the class start time. Pre-payment students have priority. However, every reasonable effort will be made to fit you in.
  7. You are requested to mute any devices that may audibly intrude e.g. watches, mobiles.
  8. If you miss a class for which you have pre-paid, no refund will be provided.
  9. If a class is cancelled through circumstances beyond my control, I shall provide a pro-rata credit off your next payment. I shall endeavour to give notice (primarily by email) of any cancellation, but this will not always be possible.
  10. Your yoga teacher reserves the right to substitute another qualified yoga teacher at any class, although this is likely to be exceptional unless I advice you otherwise.
  11. I will communicate with you about yoga periodically by email. If you do not have email, I may post printed communications to you or bring them to class for you to take away.
  12. Please try to arrive for class at least a few minutes early to avoid delaying the class start and disturbing others.
