Dynamic Yoga by Godfrey Devereux - V001

. A form of Astanga Vinyasa yoga, sometimes known as Power Yoga. Full review coming soon!
Yoga Mind & Body by Ali MacGraw - V002

. Set in the White Sands National Park desert starring an award winning actress and taught by Erich Schiffmann.
Don’s Review - Ali and 3 other students go through a yoga class in the desert. This
is a sequence that you could follow at home and includes good basic instructions. Yoga, against a backdrop of the breath taking desert landscapes, skyscapes and
hypnotic music, is a joy to watch - I felt I just wanted to get out there and do it myself! Perhaps we will try this on Tuesday evening one week! The class includes
the cat, half dog, sun salutation, Tree, a nice Trikonasana sequence, a series of backbends, lying spinal twist and finishing in savasana. A joy to watch and a
practical intermediate level sequence - just take care of your back! - recommended!
Desert Grace Suite by Tripsichore Yoga Theatre - V003

. About Raj who believes he cannot see his shadow. Shadow is
also depressed about this and they go to the desert to find a solution.
Don’s Review: Having seen Tripsichore perform live before and had a workshop with them, I knew this would be a wonderful display and I was not disappointed.
The choreography was superb and the movements so graceful and synchronised in group yoga. This video illustrates the physical results of working with yoga -
strength, stamina and flexibility that few can hope to achieve. It is a visual delight of classical and innovative postures with beautiful gravity-defying dynamic
transitions. I was absorbed in the sheer beauty of the yoga - the story was really of secondary importance. It was also interesting to see very simple things used to
great artistic effect such as foot flexion and namaste. All in all, a memorable experience - highly recommended!
Gregorian Chants by Benedictine Monks of St Wandrille - V004

. Music, chants and inspirational images. Full Review coming soon.
Jane Fonda’s Yoga Exercise Workout - V005

. A mini-yoga class with stretching, toning, sun salutation and relaxation.
Don’s Review: Featuring only Jane Fonda demonstrating and talking, this production is a little ‘naff’! It is more like an aerobics style instruction (which is
what the remainder of her fitness library is about). A strong focus on body position and whether to breath in or out - it seems to miss the essence of yoga to me. A bit
too chatty for my liking. However, for beginners it does give good progressive levels. The main yoga is the sun salutation sequence and this has 3 levels. So if
you struggle with the conventional plank posture, you will find a good easier version to help you progress. I also liked the variations on the cat - standing up
and sitting down. In summary, if you aren’t too bothered by Jane’s voice, this is quite good for beginners to develop their Sun Salutation sequence - worth working with this if you are a beginner yet to master the sun salutation.
